One of Sam Simon's largest influences is Chinoiserie:a French term, referring to a recurring theme in European decorative arts since the seventeenth century, which reflect Chinese artistic influences. This project is a stunning example of a space that would suit a child from birth to 100. (at 101, the space might need a makeover). Mr. Simon has also employed this motif in dining rooms, boudoirs, and grand foyers. The entire piece is layered with matte, pearl and metallic paints, finished with a generous hand detailing of tiny Swarovski crystals.
